Russian-Taught Programs: You must demonstrate proficiency equivalent to the TORFL-1 (B1) level. If you do not speak Russian, you must first complete a 1-year preparatory program at the SPbU Russian Language and Culture Institute.
English-Taught Programs: For specific programs delivered entirely in English, you must prove your proficiency. While strict cutoffs vary by faculty, submitting a certificate showing an IELTS score of 5.5–6.0 or TOEFL score of 80 is highly recommended to secure portfolio point
There are over 750 universities across Russia that accept international students. Out of these, approximately 456 higher education institutions are actively authorized to accept international students under the tuition-free Russian Government Scholarship quota system
