  • Entrance Examinations: Every applicant must pass internal entrance exams dictated by their chosen faculty. These exams typically take place online or in person after mid-June.
  • Academic Records: While internal exams are the priority, historical data shows admitted students typically present a minimum high school aggregate of 50%–55% or an International Baccalaureate (IB) score of 24.

The vast majority of degree paths at MSU are conducted entirely in Russian.
  • Russian-Taught Programs: If you do not speak Russian, you must first enroll in a 1-year preparatory course at the MSU Institute of Russian Language and Culture. Passing this program prepares you for the standard academic courses.
  • English-Taught Programs: For specific programs delivered entirely in English (such as select Master’s degrees or the English-medium MBBS), you do not need Russian. While IELTS/TOEFL scores are not strictly mandated by all departments, an IELTS of 5.5 or TOEFL of 79 is highly recommended to prove your eligibility.
